A new Xiaomi phone with the model number 23116PN5BC has passed China’s telecom equipment network access approval, and the filing is drawing attention because its specifications look very close to the Xiaomi 14 Pro.
According to the official listing, the device measures 161.93 × 76.12 × 8.7 mm and weighs 223.7 grams. It uses a 6.73-inch display with a 1440 × 3200 resolution, which matches the size and high-end positioning expected from Xiaomi’s Pro model.
The core hardware listed for the phone includes an eight-core processor running at up to 3.3 GHz. Memory options include 8GB, 12GB, and 18GB of RAM, while storage options cover 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. The filing also notes that expandable storage is not supported.

Camera details also line up with a premium Xiaomi device. The phone has three rear cameras, each listed at 50 megapixels, plus a 32-megapixel front camera. That gives it four cameras in total.
The battery section is where things get interesting. The listed rated capacity is 4,760mAh, with a typical capacity of 5,000mAh. By comparison, the original Xiaomi 14 Pro used a 4,880mAh typical battery, with the same 4,760mAh rated value.
Based on the screen size, processor frequency, and model number, the device appears to be broadly consistent with the Xiaomi 14 Pro. The small shift in typical battery capacity is why the listing is being read as a possible battery-related validation model rather than a totally new retail phone.

Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station said on Weibo that the Xiaomi 14 series has recently been refiled for network access. The tipster expects the filing to be tied to validation units for larger batteries, and suggested that Xiaomi may later open a battery upgrade service for the series.
That would fit Xiaomi’s recent service pattern. Last month, the company opened a battery upgrade program for the Xiaomi 13 series in China, covering the Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Pro, and Xiaomi 13 Ultra.
For that earlier program, Xiaomi charged 189 yuan in total. The battery upgrade itself was priced at 149 yuan, with a separate 40 yuan labor fee.
Nothing in the current filing confirms that a Xiaomi 14 series upgrade service is officially launching yet. Still, the appearance of 23116PN5BC gives users a reason to watch closely, especially anyone hoping to keep a Xiaomi 14 Pro longer with a fresh or slightly larger battery.
