A new leak from Greek tech outlet Techmaniacs outlines key hardware details for Samsung’s next large foldables, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold Wide. The report also points to a possible July 22 date for Samsung’s second-half 2026 Galaxy Unpacked event.
According to the report, Samsung is expected to unveil three foldables at that event: the Galaxy Z Flip8, Galaxy Z Fold8, and Galaxy Z Fold Wide. The Fold8 itself reportedly won’t be a dramatic redesign, but it may still bring several notable spec upgrades.
For the Galaxy Z Fold8, the leak says the phone measures about 4.1mm at its thinnest point when unfolded and weighs slightly more than 210 grams. Screen sizes are said to stay in line with the previous generation, with a 6.5-inch outer display and an 8-inch inner panel.

On the silicon side, the Fold8 is rumored to use the same chip as the Galaxy S26 Ultra, described here as a higher-clocked “for Galaxy” version of Qualcomm’s fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 flagship platform. Camera hardware may stay familiar in some areas, including a 200MP main camera and two 10MP selfie cameras, but the ultra-wide camera is said to jump from 12MP to 50MP.
Battery life could be one of the more meaningful upgrades. The report says Samsung may raise battery capacity from 4400mAh on the Fold7 to 5000mAh on the Galaxy Z Fold8, while wired charging could move from 25W to 45W.
The Galaxy Z Fold Wide is described as a different take on the category. It reportedly uses a dual rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor and a 50MP ultra-wide, but no telephoto camera. The phone is also said to include a 4800mAh battery with 45W charging, a 7.6-inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, and a total weight of around 200 grams.
As always, these details should still be treated as pre-launch information rather than final specs. Even so, the leak suggests Samsung may be focusing on refinement, battery gains, and lineup diversification rather than a radical overhaul this cycle.
