A new GalaxyClub leak says Samsung’s rumored Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide could arrive with a simpler rear-camera setup than the regular Fold model, using dual 50MP cameras for the main and ultra-wide lenses. The same report also points to a 4800mAh battery inside the device.
That would put it in a different position from the standard Galaxy Z Fold8, which earlier reports say may use a 200MP main camera and a larger 5000mAh battery. In other words, Samsung may be separating the two foldables not just by form factor, but also by camera priorities and battery sizing.
Earlier leaks have suggested the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide could launch on July 22. Samsung is reportedly aiming to use the model to answer Apple’s first foldable iPhone, which some reports expect to reach the market in September. That timing would make the device part of a broader strategy to defend Samsung’s lead in the global foldable-phone segment.
As for physical design, current leaks describe the phone with a 7.6-inch inner display, a 5.4-inch outer display, and an inner-screen aspect ratio close to 4:3. When unfolded, thickness is said to come in at around 4.5mm, which would keep the device in the ultra-thin foldable conversation.
None of these details are official yet, but the leak paints a fairly specific picture: the Galaxy Z Fold8 Wide may focus on a broader foldable experience and thin hardware design, even if that means settling for a more streamlined dual 50MP cameras system and a slightly smaller 4800mAh battery than the main Fold8.
