Hisense has started teasing the Hisense A10, a new E-Ink phone expected to make its first appearance in August 2026. The teaser came from the Xiaohongshu account “Hisense E-Ink Screen,” which framed the device as something the company has been working on for three years.

The official teaser images use phrases that roughly translate to “three years in the making” and “thin, but not lacking strength.” That wording points to a device focused on a slimmer body while still trying to keep the practical appeal that made Hisense’s earlier E-Ink phones interesting.

What Hisense hasn’t confirmed yet is the exact screen layout. Based on the current teaser, it’s still unclear whether the Hisense A10 will use a single E Ink display or a dual-screen design. That’s an important detail for this niche category, because E-Ink phones can feel very different depending on whether they’re built as full-time reading-first devices or hybrid phones with a conventional secondary display.

Hisense’s last E-Ink phone was the A9, released back in 2022. That model used a 6.1-inch, 300PPI E-Ink screen and started at 1,799 yuan in China. The long gap makes the A10 teaser more interesting, especially for users who prefer low-glare reading, long battery life, and a more distraction-light mobile experience.

There’s one extra bit of context: Hisense previously said its Hi Reader 2026 commemorative edition reader was expected in the first quarter of 2026, while the A10 was expected around the middle of 2026. The reader has not yet received a follow-up, but the new A10 teaser suggests Hisense is still moving forward with its E-Ink mobile device plans.

For now, the E-Ink phone remains a teaser rather than a fully detailed product. The August reveal should clarify the screen design, hardware specs, pricing, and whether Hisense is aiming the A10 at dedicated readers, minimalist phone users, or both.
