Honor Magic Capsule Stack Style Settings Start Rolling Out Through System Manager Update

Honor is rolling out more personalization for its Honor Magic Capsule interface. An Honor R&D engineer said that the new stack style settings for Magic Capsule are being enabled through an update to the System Manager service in the app market.

The update is not necessarily appearing for every user at the same time. According to the engineer, support has already begun rolling out gradually, which suggests users may need to wait for the System Manager service update to reach their device.

Magic Capsule is Honor’s pill-shaped live activity feature at the top of the screen. It works somewhat like Apple’s Dynamic Island, showing ongoing tasks in a compact capsule so users can check live status, access quick controls, or jump back into the related app.

The feature first appeared with the Honor Magic 6 series as part of MagicOS 8.0. It can shrink into a small ball-style indicator and later expand back into the capsule view until the active task ends.

The newly shared screenshots show three personalization choices for the stacked Magic Capsule state: the default style, Style 1, and Style 2.

The default option displays two capsules stacked together. Style 1 changes the look to one capsule with a pair of small ear-like shapes. Style 2 keeps a single capsule but adds a pair of longer curved lines around it.

These are small visual changes, but they matter because live activity interfaces sit in a very visible part of the screen. Users may see the capsule during navigation, timers, music playback, ride-hailing, food delivery, sports scores, and other real-time tasks.

Giving users more control over the stacked presentation helps Honor make MagicOS feel less rigid. It also lets the company refine a feature that has become an increasingly important part of modern smartphone UI design.

Honor has also said in its June MagicOS update notes that Magic Capsule will add sports score support and driving navigation support. The lock screen widgets are also expected to gain a world clock feature.

Together, those changes show that Honor is still expanding Magic Capsule beyond a simple notification decoration. The company appears to be treating it as a persistent live-status area for real-time information and quick actions.

For users, the practical step is simple: check whether the System Manager service has an available update in Honor’s app market. Once the update reaches a device, the stack style settings should become available for supported Magic Capsule layouts.

Honor has not provided a single global rollout time for every model, so availability may vary by device, region, and software build. Users who do not see the options immediately may simply need to wait for the staged rollout to finish.
