Xiaomi’s new Xiaomi 17T series was officially introduced earlier today, and TCL CSOT has now confirmed that it supplied the displays for the lineup. The phones are positioned as all-around imaging flagships, with Xiaomi using the 17T family to return to the domestic T-series track in China.
According to TCL CSOT, the full Xiaomi 17T lineup uses the company’s latest light-emitting materials and a 2D flat-screen process. That means Xiaomi is not only emphasizing camera performance with the new models, but also treating the display as a major part of the product experience.
The standard Xiaomi 17T features a 6.59-inch display with a 2756 × 1268 resolution and support for a 120Hz refresh rate. The Xiaomi 17T Pro steps up to a larger 6.83-inch low-power “super sunlight” screen with a 2772 × 1280 resolution and a faster 144Hz refresh rate.

The Pro model’s panel is also rated for a peak brightness of 3,500 nits. TCL CSOT says the screen supports 12-bit color depth and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 wide color gamut, which should make it more suitable for high-brightness outdoor use, rich color reproduction, and media viewing.
Eye comfort is another part of the story. The Xiaomi 17T series comes standard with TÜV Rheinland four-part eye-care certification across the lineup. TCL CSOT says hardware-level optimization is used to reduce harmful blue light output, while multi-level smart blue-light adjustment can adapt to different usage scenarios.
That matters because smartphone screens are now expected to do almost everything: gaming, video, photography previews, navigation, document reading, and late-night scrolling. A higher-end panel with stronger brightness, color, refresh-rate, and eye-care claims gives Xiaomi a broader pitch than simply focusing on chip performance or camera hardware.

TCL CSOT also shared some background on its long-running relationship with Xiaomi. The two companies began working together in 2017, when the Xiaomi 5X used a TCL CSOT LTPS screen. At the beginning, the partnership mainly centered on mass LCD supply for mid-range phones.
The relationship later expanded beyond basic component sourcing. In August 2021, TCL CSOT and Xiaomi signed a joint laboratory cooperation agreement and created an innovation display joint lab. On July 12, 2025, the second phase of the Xiaomi-TCL CSOT innovation display joint laboratory opened at the Wuhan base.
For U.S. readers, the main takeaway is that the Xiaomi 17T series is being built around a more complete display story: flat-panel design, high refresh rates, strong outdoor brightness, wide color support, and certified eye-care features. It also shows how closely Chinese phone brands and domestic display suppliers are now working together to tune screens for specific product lines.
