Huawei Pura 90 series product pages drop the earlier USB 3.1 Gen 1 wording and now list only USB Type-C

Huawei introduced the Huawei Pura 90, Pura 90 Pro, and Pura 90 Max during its latest Pura series and all-scenario product launch event. Shortly after the announcement, a change on Huawei’s official product pages started drawing attention.

According to the current specification listings, the cable interface field for all three new phones now shows only USB Type-C. That wording is noticeably simpler than what Huawei used on some previous-generation models.

For comparison, the earlier Pura 80 Pro, Pura 80 Pro Plus, and Pura 80 Ultra specification pages were described as USB Type-C, USB 3.1 Gen 1, with DP 1.2 support. The standard Pura 80 model was listed separately with USB Type-C and USB 2.0.

Huawei’s currently sold Mate 80 lineup still carries the USB Type-C and USB 3.1 Gen 1 wording on its product pages, which makes the new Pura 90 series language stand out even more for buyers comparing connectivity details across Huawei phones.

At this stage, the official pages only confirm the revised wording rather than explain the reason behind it. Even so, the change is worth noting for shoppers who care about wired transfer standards and want to compare the Huawei Pura 90 series closely with earlier models before buying.
