A new set of high-resolution dummy-model photos may give us the clearest look yet at Apple’s rumored iPhone Fold. The images, shared by leaker Sonny Dickson, suggest the device’s overall design is getting close to final form. Dickson also says the first foldable iPhone may arrive only in white.
Dummy models are usually made for offline display and for accessory makers. Case manufacturers need accurate dimensions early so they can prepare protective cases and other accessories before a new phone officially launches.
Back in April, Dickson also showed early engineering models for the foldable iPhone, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Those earlier units were among the first physical mockups to visually confirm that Apple’s folding phone was using a passport-style, book-like layout.

This latest iPhone Fold dummy model appears to show far more detail than the versions that circulated before. It gives a better look at the device’s shape, screen layout, camera area, and several smaller design choices.
The design also lines up with many of the rumors currently surrounding the device. The phone reportedly uses a book-style form factor with a 4:3 screen ratio. Its body is said to be wider than it is tall, which would make it visually different from every foldable phone currently on the market.
According to the current leaks, the outside display measures 5.5 inches, while the inside panel is a 7.8-inch OLED screen. When unfolded, the device is expected to be slightly smaller than an iPad mini.

Other rumored hardware details are just as interesting. The phone is said to use an ultra-thin 4.5mm titanium frame. The volume buttons may move to the top edge, and Apple is reportedly removing the customizable Action Button from this model.
The authentication setup could also change. Instead of Face ID, the first iPhone Fold is rumored to switch back to Touch ID. That would be a major design difference from Apple’s current high-end iPhone lineup.
On the back, the dummy model shows a horizontal dual-camera module. The raised camera area appears to borrow from the iPhone Air-style design language, rather than using the more familiar square camera island seen on recent Pro models.

The newly leaked model also shows several small design details. The cover screen appears to use a full-screen design with slightly curved edges. The flash sits inside the camera area below the rear microphone.
That rear microphone also seems to have a new look, with a seven-hole opening. Inside, the front-facing camera is placed in the upper-left corner of the inner display. If this layout is accurate, it will likely affect how Apple handles the Dynamic Island interface on the folding screen.
Color may be another point of difference. Dickson says the device appears to come only in white. Chinese blogger Digital Chat Station previously made a similar claim, saying the model likely won’t have a black version and that white could be the only launch color.
Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman has also said Apple plans to avoid bright, flashy colors for the device and stick with a more traditional palette. A single launch color would not be unusual for Apple’s most ambitious new product lines.
Apple Watch Ultra and Vision Pro both launched with very limited color choices. The iPhone X, which debuted in November 2017, was also relatively restrained, launching only in silver and space gray while starting at a then-record $999. Apple added a gold option with the iPhone XS the following year.
That same gradual color strategy could happen with the foldable iPhone. Apple may start with one conservative color, then expand the lineup later once production and demand become easier to judge.
The current expectation is that the iPhone Fold will launch in September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. Gurman has previously reported that the foldable model could start above $2,000, which would put it well beyond the pricing of today’s Pro Max phones.
For now, this is still based on leaks and dummy models rather than Apple’s own announcement. Even so, the latest iPhone Fold dummy model gives a fairly detailed preview of the kind of premium, book-style foldable Apple may be preparing for next year.
