iQOO may be preparing to push phone battery capacity even higher. A new leak from Chinese tipster Digital Chat Station claims that a manufacturer is testing a performance phone with a massive 10000mAh battery. Based on the tipster’s usual wording and past hints, the device is expected to be an iQOO model.
The report does not identify the exact model name, and iQOO has not officially announced the device. Still, the rumor fits a broader trend among Chinese Android brands: phones are getting much larger batteries without abandoning high-refresh displays, gaming-focused chips, or fast charging.
iQOO already has several recent phones built around unusually large battery packs. The iQOO Z11, for example, has reached 9,020mAh. The iQOO Neo11 carries a 7,500mAh Blue Ocean battery, while the iQOO 15T uses an 8,000mAh ultra-thin Blue Ocean battery.
Those models show that iQOO has been steadily expanding battery capacity across different product lines. A move to a 10000mAh battery would be a bigger step, especially if the phone is still positioned as a performance-focused model rather than a rugged or niche endurance device.
The competitive landscape is also changing quickly. Several brands have already launched or tested phones with batteries near or above the 10,000mAh mark. Honor’s WIN series launched last December with prices starting at 2,599 yuan. That lineup includes built-in cooling fans and uses a 10,000mAh Qinghai Lake battery across the series.
Honor also introduced the Power2 in January with an even larger 10,080mAh Qinghai Lake battery. That phone supports 80W fast charging and 27W reverse charging, making it a clear example of how ultra-large battery phones are becoming more mainstream in China.
Other companies are reportedly exploring the same direction. Xiaomi’s REDMI line, OnePlus Ace models, and Huawei have all been linked to 10,000mAh-class phone testing in recent leaks.
For buyers, the appeal is obvious. A phone with a 10000mAh battery could offer far longer screen-on time for gaming, video, navigation, hotspot use, and travel. That would be especially attractive in a performance phone, where high-refresh screens and powerful chipsets usually increase power draw.
The challenge is equally clear. Bigger batteries can make phones thicker and heavier, and they can affect heat management, charging time, and internal layout. The most interesting part of this iQOO rumor is whether the company can combine the large battery with a design that still feels practical for everyday use.
There are no confirmed details yet about the processor, display, charging speed, camera system, or final product name. The leak also does not say whether the device belongs to the iQOO Z, Neo, or numbered flagship family.
Even with those unknowns, the report suggests that battery capacity may become one of the next major battlegrounds for Android performance phones. After years of 4,500mAh to 5,500mAh batteries being normal, Chinese brands are now pushing well beyond that range.
If iQOO does bring a mainstream performance phone with a 10000mAh battery to market, it could raise expectations for endurance across the category. More information should surface as the device moves closer to official confirmation.
