Vivo X Fold6 foldable phone seen ahead of launch

The Vivo X Fold6 appears to have shown up in public before its official launch, giving phone watchers an early look at Vivo’s next large-screen foldable. According to Sina Entertainment, actress and singer Zhu Zhu appeared at the French Open women’s singles final holding a foldable phone that is expected to be the unreleased Vivo X Fold6.

The device stands out immediately because of its bright color and its large circular rear camera module. The Zeiss blue badge sits near the center of the camera area, continuing Vivo’s familiar imaging partnership branding. Compared with the previous generation, the overall shape looks rounder and softer, which may make the phone feel less squared-off in daily use.

Vivo has already confirmed that the Vivo X Fold6 will launch in June. Earlier today, the company said the new foldable will bring upgrades to its Atomic Workbench, with a wider view for primary tasks and better use of split-screen layouts. Vivo claims the usable display area in these productivity scenarios has increased by 15%.

That focus is important because foldable phones live or die by how well their software takes advantage of the inner display. A larger canvas is useful only if multitasking, floating windows, and split-screen work feel natural. Vivo’s messaging suggests that the X Fold6 is being positioned not just as a hardware upgrade, but as a stronger productivity device.

Vivo product vice president Huang Tao has also said that the company will introduce a new OriginOS 6 Fold experience with the phone. The software update is expected to focus on foldable-screen workflows and AI productivity. Vivo has mentioned a new Atomic Workbench, an AI assistant, dual-device companion features, on-device AI capabilities, and continued improvements to AI interaction.

For U.S. readers who follow foldables from Samsung, Google, OnePlus, and Chinese brands, those details are worth watching. Hardware has improved quickly across the foldable market, but software remains one of the biggest areas where brands can differentiate. If OriginOS 6 Fold makes multitasking smoother, it could make the X Fold6 more competitive as a work-first foldable.

Earlier leaks from blogger Digital Chat Station pointed to a late-June schedule for what the blogger referred to as Vivo’s next foldable. The reported highlights included a flagship Dimensity 9500-class chip, a battery in the 7,000mAh range, a 200MP large-sensor camera, a 50MP mid-sized periscope telephoto camera, and a thin-and-light body.

Those leaked specifications have not been fully confirmed by Vivo, so they should still be treated as pre-launch information. Even so, the combination would be notable. A foldable phone with a 7,000mAh-class battery and a strong camera system would address two of the areas where foldables often feel compromised compared with conventional flagship phones.

The expected Dimensity 9500 positioning also signals that Vivo wants the X Fold6 to sit in true flagship territory. Foldables need extra performance headroom because they are often used for split-screen apps, large-display browsing, document work, video calls, and AI features at the same time. A flagship chipset would help support that workload.

Vivo has not yet shared final pricing, configuration options, or full availability details. The company’s June launch should confirm the official design, processor, camera setup, battery capacity, and software features. Until then, the public appearance gives an unusually clear early look at the design direction Vivo is taking with the X Fold6.
