Lenovo has officially opened reservations for the next-generation Legion Y70 gaming phone, with the full launch set for May 19. The early listing gives a fairly clear picture of Lenovo’s pitch: flagship performance, aggressive thermal management, and a battery large enough to stand out even in today’s gaming-phone market.
According to the product page, the phone will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor and pair it with a triple cooling setup that combines gel, liquid metal, and a vapor chamber. That combination is meant to keep sustained performance in check during gaming sessions rather than just chase short benchmark bursts.
Display specs are equally aggressive. Lenovo says the device uses a BOE panel built with Q10 luminous material, delivering a 2K gaming display aimed at speed-focused use. The company also claims a peak brightness of 7000 nits, positioning the screen as one of the headline features alongside the internals.
Battery life looks like another major selling point. The new Legion Y70 is listed with an 8000mAh battery, and Lenovo says it supports bypass charging as well. For mobile gamers, that’s an important detail because it can reduce heat buildup during long play sessions when plugged in.
On the design side, Lenovo says the phone follows the Legion family design language, with a finely textured glass back, an aerospace-grade aluminum frame, and an ergonomic grip layout intended to make the camera area less intrusive in hand.
