Lenovo Unveils the New Legion Y70 With Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, 2K 144Hz Display, and 8000mAh Battery

Lenovo has officially introduced the new Lenovo Legion Y70 during its latest multi-device product event in China. Preorders open immediately, the first sale is scheduled for June 9, and pricing starts at 2,599 yuan.

The launch lineup includes four storage and memory options: 12GB + 256GB for 2,599 yuan, 12GB + 512GB for 3,199 yuan, 16GB + 512GB for 3,599 yuan, and 16GB + 1TB for 4,399 yuan.

On the front, the phone uses a 6.82-inch 2K gaming display with 510 PPI, up to 2,100 nits of full-screen brightness, a 7,000-nit peak brightness claim, a 1Hz to 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, and full P3 color-gamut coverage. Lenovo is clearly positioning the panel as one of the headline features of the device.

Inside, the phone runs on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chip. Lenovo also says the handset supports an unusual four-line setup through dual physical SIM cards plus dual eSIM, which could make it stand out for users who frequently juggle work and personal numbers or travel between carriers.

Battery capacity is another major selling point. The Legion Y70 packs an 8000mAh battery paired with 90W fast charging, supports bypass power delivery, and carries what Lenovo describes as a theoretical battery lifespan of up to seven years. The company is also offering a four-year battery warranty, with a free replacement if battery health drops below 80 percent.

For durability, Lenovo lists IP66, IP68, and IP69 protection. Cooling is handled by a three-part design that combines gel, liquid metal, and a vapor chamber, which fits the phone's performance-focused positioning.

Based on the announced specs, Lenovo is aiming this model at buyers who want a gaming-leaning flagship with a very large battery, a high-end display, and more aggressive hardware features than a typical mainstream Android phone.
