A brand-new mid-range mobile processor from MediaTek, the MediaTek Dimensity 7500, has surfaced on the Geekbench benchmark database. Discovered inside a newly listed vivo smartphone carrying the model number V2572A (recently launched as the vivo S60 Youth Edition), the chipset posted promising performance numbers. The benchmark run registered a single-core score of 1,243 points and a multi-core score of 3,569 points, demonstrating the growing processing prowess of next-generation mid-range Android hardware.
According to official technical documentation and CPU schedulers, the new MediaTek Dimensity 7500 offers a substantial upgrade over its direct predecessor, the Dimensity 7400. MediaTek lists a massive 24% increase in CPU single-core performance and a 21% uplift in CPU multi-core efficiency. While early test runs on Geekbench might not have fully optimized the chip to its theoretical thermal and performance limits, benchmark experts note that the results are highly encouraging for a mid-range platform. The chip is fabricated on an advanced TSMC process, ensuring excellent thermal efficiency and prolonged battery life under heavy gaming and multitasking workloads.
The first commercial vehicle for the new chip, the vivo S60 series, officially debuted on May 29, 2026. The new phone features an elegant and lightweight 7.92mm-thin design, weighing just 199 grams and arriving in three striking summer shades: Starry Sea, Early Summer Green, and Midsummer Night. On the front, it boasts a gorgeous 6.59-inch 1260p flat OLED display with a high 144Hz refresh rate, paired with a high-resolution 50-megapixel front camera. The rear module is headlined by a 50-megapixel large-aperture main camera and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens. In terms of local pricing, the vivo S60 Youth Edition (8GB+256GB base configuration) starts at a highly competitive 2,899 yuan (approx. $400 USD).
