Nuu Mobile has introduced the Nuu B40 5G in the US, positioning it as a more affordable phone with one unusual hardware touch: a small rear AMOLED display built into the back of the device.
According to the launch details, that secondary screen measures 1.6 inches and uses an AMOLED panel with a 460 × 228 resolution. Peak brightness is rated at 500 nits. It can show the time and date, charging status, incoming call and text alerts, step counts, and music playback information. Nuu also says it can act as a preview screen for the rear camera, which makes it easier to take selfies with the main camera instead of relying on the front-facing sensor.
The main display is a 6.7-inch curved AMOLED panel with a 2400 × 1080 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness on the primary screen is listed at 1100 nits.
For cameras, the phone includes a 64MP rear main camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 16MP front camera.
Inside, the handset runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 7025 chip and comes with 8GB of memory plus 256GB of storage. It also packs a 5000mAh battery with 33W wired fast charging.
Other listed features include an in-display fingerprint sensor, Bluetooth 5.2, dual-SIM support, and Android 15 out of the box.
Nuu has set US pricing at $249.99, making the phone a value-focused option for buyers who want a modern OLED design and a more distinctive back-screen feature without stepping up to a much pricier device.
