Samsung Starts the Global One UI 8.5 Rollout on May 11 and Confirms the First Eligible Devices

After months of waiting, Samsung is finally rolling out the stable version of One UI 8.5. According to a report from SammyGuru cited by IT Home, the update has already gone live in South Korea for Samsung’s 2025 flagship lineup, including the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold 7, and Galaxy Z Flip 7.

Samsung has now confirmed that its wider Samsung update rollout begins globally on May 11. Along with that announcement, the company also shared the first batch of Galaxy devices scheduled to receive the update.

The priority list includes the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, and S25 FE. Samsung is also starting with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7, Flip 7 FE, and the Galaxy Z TriFold. From the previous generation, the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra, S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are also in the first wave.

Samsung’s tablet lineup is part of the early rollout too. The company says the Galaxy Tab S11 and Tab S11 Ultra will be updated first, followed by the Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra.

All devices in this initial group are expected to get the full One UI 8.5 experience, including the latest system performance improvements, visual refinements, and the new Galaxy AI feature set that debuts alongside the Galaxy S26 series. Samsung notes that some older models may miss a few specific features, but the core upgrade experience should remain intact.

The company also confirmed that a number of midrange and entry-level phones will receive the update, including the Galaxy A15, A16, A17, A25, A26, A34, A35, A36, A54, A55, and A56. Unlike the flagship models, these devices won’t get the more advanced AI tools or camera enhancements.

Beyond the models explicitly listed, Samsung says One UI 8.5 will reach additional Galaxy S, Galaxy Z, Galaxy A, Galaxy M, and Galaxy F series smartphones, along with more Samsung tablets and rugged Xcover devices. The company expects the broader Samsung update rollout to be completed by the end of June.
