A new report says OPPO could release a fresh four-curved smartphone later this year, potentially getting ahead of Apple’s rumored 20th anniversary iPhone design push. The claim comes from overseas outlet Wccftech, which cited information from leaker yeux1122.
According to that report, OPPO is preparing a device with a style that echoes what has been rumored for Apple’s anniversary iPhone, but on a faster timeline. While Apple’s special-edition model is currently expected around September 2027, this OPPO device could show up as early as the second half of 2026 if the leak proves accurate.
The idea isn’t the older kind of aggressively curved display that wraps sharply into the frame. Instead, the report describes something closer to a subtle micro-curve approach, using optical refraction to create a look where the borders are less noticeable without hurting edge visibility in day-to-day use.
That design direction also lines up with OPPO’s broader software and visual language work. In October 2025, the company introduced ColorOS 16 at its ODC event, bringing in a new “light field design” concept with glowing edges, gradient blur, and halo-style visual effects for the lock screen and desktop icons.
If this new handset does arrive, it may be part of a combined hardware-and-software presentation where the display shape and the interface aesthetics are meant to reinforce each other. For now, though, that’s still based on leaks rather than official confirmation.
So the main takeaway is fairly straightforward: a source claims OPPO wants to move early on a more refined four-curved smartphone concept, and the company may pair that look with the visual identity it has already been building through ColorOS 16.
