Google has started pushing the Pixel May 2026 update to a wide range of devices, covering the Pixel 7a through the Pixel 10 family as well as the Pixel Tablet. The update uses build number CP1A.260505.005 and focuses on a mix of charging, camera, display, and input fixes rather than flashy new features.
One of the biggest fixes targets wireless charging. Google says the update resolves a problem that could slow wireless charging when the battery level sat in the 75% to 80% range. For people who regularly leave their phone on a charging pad overnight or top it up before heading out, that bug could make charging take noticeably longer than expected.
There’s also a camera fix aimed specifically at the Pixel 10 lineup. In some cases, the camera app could freeze after refocusing during video recording. This update is meant to eliminate that behavior and make video capture more reliable on the latest generation.

On the display side, Google is addressing several issues affecting the Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL. According to the report, the patch fixes a persistent flickering white dot or visual noise near the top of the display, along with occasional blur, freezes, and stray line artifacts.
Google also included an input-related fix for situations where the keyboard or text input interface could freeze or shift out of place inside certain apps. That kind of bug can be especially annoying because it directly gets in the way of everyday typing and messaging.
The update comes with an important warning for Pixel 10 owners: it includes a bootloader upgrade, which means devices updated to this version can no longer roll back to an earlier Android 16 build. Anyone who relies on rooting, custom flashing, or rollback testing is being advised to back up data and confirm compatibility before installing it.
Supported devices listed in the report include the Pixel 7a, Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, Pixel 8a, Pixel Fold, Pixel Tablet, Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Pixel 9a, Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, and Pixel 10a.
