According to a report from tech media outlet Sammobile, Samsung is preparing to unveil its next-generation foldable smartphones, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Fold 8 Ultra, this coming July. The standard Z Fold 8 is expected to hit a friendlier price point while introducing a noticeably wider screen ratio. In a surprise development, the upcoming device has already been spotted in public in South Korea, giving us our first real-world look at its updated design.

The device was recently seen inside a South Korean restaurant, and two slightly blurry photos were subsequently shared across online tech forums. The first photo shows the phone sitting on a dining table inside a thick protective case used to hide its design, while the second photo captures the device in its unfolded, handheld state, revealing that its rear panel features a new dual rear cameras setup.

Although these real-world images are somewhat low-resolution, the phone clearly appears to have a wider aspect ratio than previous Galaxy Z Fold generations. This updated form factor lines up perfectly with previously leaked CAD rendering blueprints.

Earlier rumors suggested that Samsung originally planned to market this particular model as the “Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide” to emphasize its updated dimensions. However, recent insider reports indicate that Samsung will simply launch the device under the clean, standard name of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8.
