NBC News says it recently spent time with the Trump Mobile T1, a phone tied to the Trump Mobile brand that is now being marketed a little differently than before. The biggest change is in the manufacturing message. Instead of clearly promoting the device as Made in the USA, the packaging reportedly now says it is “Proudly Assembled in the USA.”
That wording shift stands out because the launch messaging had put real weight on the idea of American production. The new phrasing is more limited, and it suggests the company may be narrowing what it wants buyers to assume about where the phone is actually built and finished.
NBC also pointed out an odd design detail on the back of the phone. The American flag graphic shown there does not use the standard 13 stripes associated with the country’s original colonies and states at founding. Instead, the design appears to show only 11 stripes. No official explanation was provided for that choice.
On the hardware side, the outlet believes the handset probably is not a ground-up in-house design. Based on the exterior layout and overall look, it estimates the phone may be adapted from the HTC U24 Pro. The two devices reportedly share a very similar appearance, and the T1 also keeps a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As for the advertised package, the T1 Phone is listed at a promotional price of $499 and comes with 512GB of storage. NBC did not provide more technical details about the chip or the deeper hardware platform, so several core specs are still unclear at this stage.
Software-wise, the phone reportedly ships with the Truth Social app preinstalled. For now, that leaves the product looking less like a fully custom new smartphone and more like a politically branded Android device built around packaging, messaging, and a recognizable software tie-in.
