Xiaomi Says the 17 Max Lasts More Than 33 Hours in Heavy Video Testing Thanks to Its 8000mAh Battery

Xiaomi has started promoting the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Max with a battery-focused teaser, highlighting the phone’s endurance in a long-form video playback test. According to the company, the new model is the first in the lineup to use an 8000mAh battery from its Jinshajiang battery series.

In the test shared by Xiaomi, the phone was used in a heavy Bilibili long-video scenario and delivered more than 33 hours of on-screen use. The company specifically says the Xiaomi 17 Max reached 33.3 hours, while two iPhone 17 Pro Max units had to be used one after another to reach a combined 32 hours in the same comparison setup.

Xiaomi is clearly using that comparison to frame the 17 Max as an endurance-first flagship, with the company calling it the strongest battery life it has ever delivered on a Xiaomi phone. Even so, the announcement at this stage focuses on the battery result rather than a full technical breakdown of the device.

The teaser also ties the phone to Xiaomi’s upcoming ecosystem launch event. Xiaomi has already said the Xiaomi YU7 GT will officially go on sale on May 21 at 7:00 p.m., and the same event is expected to include the Xiaomi 17 Max, open-ear clip-style earbuds, the Band 10 Pro, and other products across Xiaomi’s broader device ecosystem.

At this point, Xiaomi is emphasizing one core message above everything else: the combination of the 8000mAh battery and the phone’s claimed real-world endurance result. More detailed specifications will likely follow at the formal launch event.
