Xiaomi 17T Series Reportedly Set for an India Return After Four Years

Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro are expected to launch overseas on May 28, and Xiaomi’s India account is already warming up the same product line. That teaser activity is being read as a clear sign that Xiaomi plans to bring the T series back to India after a long gap.

Public launch records show that Xiaomi last introduced a T-series phone in India in January 2022, when the company released the Xiaomi 11T Pro. Since then, later T-series models have skipped the Indian market, which makes the current campaign stand out more than usual.

According to earlier database information cited in the report, the Xiaomi 17T appeared in the GSMA IMEI database in September 2025 under two model numbers: 2602DPT53G for the global version and 2602DPT53I for the India version. The device is said to carry the internal codename P12A. In that naming pattern, the “G” suffix points to the global model, while “I” signals an Indian variant.

That kind of model split doesn’t confirm a retail launch by itself, but it does suggest Xiaomi prepared the phone with India in mind instead of treating the country as an afterthought. Paired with the company’s latest teaser push, the evidence looks more direct than the usual rumor cycle.

Xiaomi India still hasn’t spelled it out in plain language, but its recent teaser messages leave very little room for doubt. The official account used lines like “T is coming. Stay tuned.” and “T is coming. Things are about to change,” which strongly hint that the Xiaomi 17T series is on the way.

For Xiaomi, an India return would matter. India remains one of the world’s biggest smartphone markets, and bringing the T series back could help the company strengthen its premium-midrange lineup with devices that usually focus on strong hardware and aggressive pricing.

At this stage, the report doesn’t provide final India pricing, full regional specs, or an exact on-sale date. Still, between the overseas launch schedule, the IMEI database trail, and Xiaomi India’s own teaser language, the return of the Xiaomi 17T family now looks increasingly likely.
