Xiaomi has officially announced that its upcoming Xiaomi 17T Pro launch and standard Xiaomi 17T model will fully support the new “Leica Live Photos” feature. The announcement, made via Xiaomi’s official Weibo account, promises a more immersive and atmospheric mobile photography experience by offering two distinct color profiles: “Leica Authentic” and “Leica Vibrant.”
A standout feature of the new implementation is the exclusive Leica Live Moment watermark, which dynamically overlays onto live photos to enhance their artistic flair. According to Xiaomi, the entire Xiaomi 17T lineup will support 5x and 10x telephoto live photo capture, a feature designed to capture distant action without losing the subtle movements that make live photos special.
In addition to hardware capabilities, Xiaomi is introducing software enhancements such as the Leica Live collage mode, which allows users to combine multiple live shots into creative layouts. There will also be three different live cinematic motion modes to control camera panning effects after capture.
The Xiaomi 17T series is scheduled for an official launch on June 8, positioned as the company’s latest “all-around imaging flagship” lineup. For reference, the series has already debuted in international markets, with the standard Xiaomi 17T starting at €749 (approx. $815 USD) and the pro variant retailing from €899 (approx. $978 USD).
