Xiaomi 17T and 17T Pro to Debut in China on June 8 as Flagship Camera Phones

Xiaomi has officially confirmed that its brand-new Xiaomi 17T series will make its domestic debut in China on June 8. Marketed as all-around flagship camera phones, the lineup consists of two high-performance models: the Xiaomi 17T and the premium Xiaomi 17T Pro.

While the duo has already debuted in European markets—where the standard 17T starts at €749 (around $810 USD) and the Pro model starts at €899 (around $975 USD)—the upcoming domestic release is highly anticipated by tech enthusiasts looking for cutting-edge specs at local pricing.

Under the hood, both models are equipped with MediaTek Dimensity processors and 12GB of RAM. The standard 17T is powered by the Dimensity 8500-Ultra chip alongside a robust 6,500mAh silicon-carbon battery. Meanwhile, the top-tier 17T Pro packs the flagship Dimensity 9500 processor and upgrades the battery to a massive 7,000mAh. The Pro variant also features a larger footprint with a 6.83-inch screen (compared to the standard model’s 6.59-inch display) and supports convenient wireless charging alongside lightning-fast 100W wired charging.

The display on the Xiaomi 17T Pro is a absolute standout. It utilizes a 6.83-inch 12-bit OLED panel with a crisp 1280p+ resolution and an impressive peak brightness of 3,500 nits. The Pro upgrades include a faster 144Hz refresh rate (versus 120Hz on the base model) and a specialized ultra-dark mode that can drop brightness down to a mere 1 nit. Both screens are protected by highly durable Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

When it comes to photography, the two devices share the same telephoto, ultra-wide, and front-facing cameras, but differ significantly in their primary sensors. The Pro model sports a premium 1/1.31-inch OmniVision Light Fusion 950 sensor with a 1.2μm pixel size. On the other hand, the standard 17T uses a slightly smaller 1/1.55-inch Light Fusion 800 sensor with a 1.0μm pixel size. Both primary shooters are 50-megapixel units boasting Leica Summilux lenses (featuring a premium 1G+6P optical design) and Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The new cameras also introduce a smooth 4K 60fps video mode alongside HDR10+ and Log recording options.

For audio and connectivity, the series features dual stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res Audio, and Hi-Res Audio Wireless certification, though both models have officially omitted the traditional 3.5mm headphone jack. They support dual-SIM slots, local eSIM options in select markets, and Xiaomi’s offline satellite communication feature. The 17T Pro pushes boundaries further with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0 (complete with Dual-Bluetooth support), while the base 17T includes Wi-Fi 6E and standard Bluetooth 6.0. NFC is standard on both.

Color choices for the premium Pro version include classic Black, Deep Blue, and Deep Purple, while standard 17T buyers can pick from Black, Blue, Purple, and a gorgeous Opal White.
