Xiaomi has confirmed that the Xiaomi 17T Pro will use MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 flagship chipset. The phone is scheduled to launch on June 8 at 2:00 p.m. China time, alongside the broader Xiaomi 17T series.

The chip details are the main highlight of Xiaomi’s latest teaser. The company says the Dimensity 9500 is built on a 3nm process and uses a third-generation architecture with an eight-core all-big-core design. Compared with the previous generation, Xiaomi claims GPU performance is up by 33%, power consumption is down by 42%, and ray-tracing rendering performance is up by 199%.

That makes the Dimensity 9500 positioning very clear: Xiaomi is pitching the 17T Pro as a performance phone, not just a camera-focused model. The claimed gains should matter most for gaming, graphics-heavy apps, and longer sessions where power efficiency can affect heat and battery drain.

Xiaomi also confirmed the basic screen sizes for the series. The standard Xiaomi 17T will use a 6.59-inch display, while the Pro version will move up to a 6.83-inch screen. Across the lineup, Xiaomi says the phones use a four-curved wrapped middle frame, a flat 2D display, an integrated metal camera Deco, large rounded corners, and ultra-narrow bezels.

The camera setup is another major part of the announcement. The Xiaomi 17T Pro will carry a Leica triple camera system with Leica Summilux optics. Xiaomi lists a Leica high-dynamic-range main camera based on the Light Hunter 950 sensor with 13.5EV dynamic range, a Leica 5X periscope telephoto camera, and a Leica 120-degree ultra-wide camera.

The periscope telephoto will not be limited to the Pro model. Xiaomi says the entire Xiaomi 17T series will include a Leica 5X periscope telephoto camera, supporting 5X optical zoom and 10X lossless zoom. The phones will also offer 120X UltraZoom and a 30cm telephoto macro mode.

For buyers, that means the Xiaomi 17T series is shaping up around three themes: a flagship-class processor, Leica-branded imaging, and long-range zoom hardware. The larger 17T Pro appears to be the performance-focused option, while the standard model still keeps several of the camera features that usually separate premium devices from more mainstream Android phones.

Xiaomi has not yet filled in every detail, including battery capacity, charging speed, memory options, or pricing. Those should be confirmed during the June 8 launch event. For now, the official information gives the Xiaomi 17T Pro a fairly aggressive flagship identity, especially for users who care about gaming performance and flexible camera zoom.
