Apple Reportedly Redesigns the AirPods Settings Experience in iOS 27

Apple may not be building a standalone app for AirPods, but Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says the company is finally reworking the AirPods settings experience in iOS 27.

According to the report, Apple plans a major redesign of the AirPods menu inside the Settings app. The goal is to make the page cleaner, easier to navigate, and more practical for everyday adjustments. Once an iPhone is connected to a pair of AirPods, that settings page is also expected to appear more prominently near the top of the main Settings screen.

The current setup has become increasingly crowded over the years. Apple has added features like head gestures, hearing assistance options, and sleep detection, but those newer tools were layered onto a menu structure that still traces back to the earliest AirPods generations. The result is a page that can feel cluttered even for regular users.

The new design is said to improve information hierarchy and make the most important controls easier to reach. The updated interface should arrive across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27, with Apple expected to unveil the next wave of operating systems at WWDC in the coming weeks.
