Several major members of China’s Gold Label Alliance — Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, and Honor — have now published formal notices asking developers to complete Android 17 app compatibility work by July 1, 2026. The coordinated push is meant to give developers time to test apps against the new platform before broader rollout reaches more users.

According to the IT Home roundup, Xiaomi has opened access for developers working on the Xiaomi 17 Ultra, Xiaomi 17 Ultra Leica Edition, and Xiaomi 17 to flash a HyperOS developer preview based on Android 17 Beta 2. Xiaomi notes that flashing will erase device data, so developers are being told to back up their phones before testing. The company is also directing teams to its Android 17 compatibility guide, preview announcement, and flashing guide to speed up validation work.

OPPO says it has already released an Android 17 preview build and has also made remote cloud test devices running the new system available through its open platform. Its notice is more direct about the consequences of missing the deadline: if developers do not finish adaptation work before July 1, the company says it may take product-side measures to protect user experience, including warning labels in search, model-specific restrictions, or even removal of affected apps.

vivo has launched what it describes as dedicated Android 17 adaptation support for developers, with guidance through its developer platform, customer support, and email assistance. The company says the goal is to help partners verify both compatibility and security on the new system while pushing for full adaptation before the same July 1 date.

Honor has also joined in by releasing an Android 17 OEM beta for developers using the Magic 8 Pro, allowing them to preview Android 17 Beta 3 and test their apps early. It is pairing that beta with an adaptation guide and access to a cloud real-device platform so developers can work through issues before the public rollout broadens.

Taken together, the notices show an unusually synchronized move across several major Android brands. For app makers, the message is simple: don’t wait for the final release wave. Start app compatibility testing now, verify behavior on vendor preview builds, and close any Android 17 issues before the July 1 deadline becomes a hard operational problem.
