Samsung has formally introduced One UI 9.0, its next major software layer built on Android 17, and a new report says the company is getting ready to open a staged beta program in several key markets.
According to the details cited by IT Home from SamMobile, the first wave of testing is expected to cover devices in South Korea, Germany, India, Poland, the United States, and the United Kingdom. Samsung has often started these previews in Korea before widening availability, so this rollout pattern fits the company’s usual approach.
The initial device list is said to be limited to the Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26+, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. That means Samsung is once again treating its newest flagship phones as the first public test bed before expanding the beta to more hardware over the following weeks or months.
The report also says broader support could eventually reach more Galaxy product lines, including additional S series models, foldables in the Z Fold and Z Flip families, and selected A series devices. For early adopters, though, the first phase appears tightly focused on the three current S26 models.
As for features, One UI 9.0 is described as bringing a refreshed interface design, new functions, and a set of system improvements. One highlighted addition is a redesigned Samsung Notes experience, alongside a new quick control panel and accessibility enhancements.
For Samsung users waiting on the next interface update, the biggest takeaway is simple: the public testing window looks close, but access will start small. If the timeline holds, owners of the Galaxy S26 series should be the first to try the new software before the update spreads more widely.
