OPPO has officially confirmed that the OPPO Reno 16 series will introduce a new AI Key, giving the lineup a dedicated hardware shortcut for its upcoming AI features. The company says the button will support AI Flash Notes, which is being positioned as a quick way to capture and organize information from the screen.
According to OPPO, the feature is meant to work in just about any scenario. With a single press, the phone can analyze what is currently on screen, break out the important details in layers, and turn scattered snippets into something more structured. Instead of leaving those fragments buried in separate apps, the idea is to save them in a more usable format right away.
OPPO also says all Flash Notes records will be collected inside its Xiaobu Memory app. From there, users will be able to review summaries, jump back to the original source, connect related items from earlier entries, and let the app automatically group material into themed collections. In other words, the company isn’t treating this as a simple screenshot shortcut, but as part of a broader memory and retrieval system.
This announcement also lines up with earlier leak chatter around the Reno 16 family. Previous reports cited by IT Home suggested that a new Reno phone could arrive with a 200MP ultra-clear gimbal main camera, a Dimensity 9-series chip, and upgraded lens tuning. If those details hold up, the OPPO Reno 16 range may end up combining notable camera hardware with a more visible set of AI tools.
For now, the newly confirmed AI Key is the clearest official signal yet about how OPPO wants to position the Reno 16 series. Rather than talking only about raw specs, the company is making speed, memory capture, and practical on-device assistance part of the phone’s identity before launch.
