A new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station lays out a fairly detailed early picture of the upcoming OPPO Reno 16 series. Based on the discussion around the post, the devices in question are expected to be the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro, both positioned with unusually high-end battery and camera specs for the lineup.
The reported OPPO Reno 16 Pro would use a 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED flat display and a Dimensity 9500s chip. It’s also said to feature a 7,000mAh battery, 80W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, a metal frame, and a rear camera setup built around a 200MP HP5 main sensor plus 50MP ultra-wide and 50MP periscope telephoto cameras.
The standard Reno 16 is tipped to take a slightly smaller route with a 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED flat display and a Dimensity 8550 processor. Even so, it reportedly keeps a 6,700mAh battery, 80W wired charging, a 200MP HP5 main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto camera, and a metal frame.
One of the more unusual points in the leak is an optional smart accessory display. The accessory is said to support custom wallpapers and remote photo capture, giving the series a more experimental add-on than what Reno phones usually offer.
In follow-up comments, the tipster suggested the Pro model could have imaging accessories comparable in concept to gear seen on much more expensive phones, even if the lens group itself may not be at the same level. Another comment claimed the Pro was once expected to carry a Pro Max name because of pricing changes, but OPPO ultimately kept the familiar naming structure. IT Home had previously reported that the Reno 16 series is expected to debut in May.
