Even though vivo hasn’t formally announced the phone yet, the new vivo S60 series has already started accepting reservations through vivo’s own website and major retail channels including JD.com.
That early reservation activity doesn’t come with an official launch date so far, but it does suggest the lineup is moving closer to release. For now, vivo is still keeping the timing under wraps.
The more detailed picture comes from prior leaks cited in the source report. According to known tipster Digital Chat Station, the engineering prototype for this S-series refresh is said to use a 6.59-inch 1.5K display with large rounded corners and a wide horizontal rear camera layout.
The same leak says the device is expected to run on a Snapdragon 8s platform. Other rumored hardware points include a battery capacity beginning with a 7, a 90W fast-charging setup, an IMX8-series mid-size periscope telephoto camera, a metal frame, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, and both IP68 and IP69 durability ratings.

The report also notes that the prototype comes in a standout pink finish, and that a collaboration with a well-known domestic animation IP is also being prepared.
For context, vivo introduced the previous S50 series in December last year. That lineup used third-generation Snapdragon 8s and fifth-generation Snapdragon 8 chips, paired with LPDDR5X Ultra memory and UFS 4.1 storage, while the base 12GB + 256GB version started at 2,999 yuan.
Taken together, the reservation opening and the leaked hardware outline suggest the upcoming vivo S60 family will continue to target buyers who want a style-forward phone without dropping upper-tier specs. The exact launch window still hasn’t been confirmed, but the channel activity makes it clear the series is already on deck.
